Brinc is proud to have been a partner at last month’s Web Summit Qatar, which took place on February 23 and 26, 2024. Bringing together an audience of local and international industry leaders, the event served as a vital platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem partners.

The summit kicked off with opening ceremony remarks from South African comedian, television host, political commentator, and author Trevor Noah, focusing on the impact of technology and his involvement in the tech industry. This set the stage for a series of pitches from global startups across various verticals, providing a platform for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses designed to upskill in areas like corporate innovation, Web3, scaling for startups, and marketing. Through the weekend, the Web Summit also featured Sachin Dev Duggal, co-founder and CEO of Builder.ai, Gilberto Silva, a World Cup-winning footballer, Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell, and Gary Vaynerchuk, the founder and CEO of VaynerMedia, a prominent serial entrepreneur.

The event setup at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center provided ample opportunities for investor networking through a dedicated lounge where Brinc was a sponsor, where investors could set up individual meetings with founders and industry experts. Many major organizations representing the state of Qatar, including the Qatar Investment Authority, were present, offering those interested in the Qatar market an opportunity to gain more insight into market entry.

With the MENA region emerging as a hotbed for innovation and entrepreneurial excellence and the Qatari government allocating more than US$1 billion towards investments in capital funds across international and regional markets to support innovation, Brinc is doubling down on its efforts to foster the growth and success of startups in this dynamic market.

At Web Summit Qatar, Brinc Founder & CEO, Manav Gupta, hosted a roundtable discussion titled, “Venture Capital As A Service: The Future of VC”. Manav shared strategic insights into the future of venture capital firms and Brinc’s positioning, further elaborating on our commitment to fostering innovation in the MENA region.

“The MENA region has been taking great strides to position itself globally as early adopters of new technology, and we are excited to be a part of and support its thriving environment,” states Manav Gupta, CEO & Founder of Brinc. “Our strategic presence at conferences such as Web Summit Qatar underscores our dedication to catalyzing innovation within the MENA region and addressing the complex challenges facing our world. We aim to empower entrepreneurs and startups to leverage new technologies to drive positive change and shape the future.”

“As we look towards the future, Brinc is excited to continue plans for significant expansion. In the next 18 months, we aim to deepen our roots within the region by establishing a physical presence in Muscat, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. This expansion is more than just a geographical stride; it’s a testament to our commitment to nurturing the startup ecosystem and driving economic growth across the MENA region,” says Yasin Aboudaoud, Managing Director of Brinc MENA. “Through these initiatives, Brinc is set to offer more targeted support, resources, and networks to the bright minds shaping our tomorrow, ensuring they have the tools and backing needed to transform their visions into reality.”

Building on the momentum from its partnership with Web Summit Qatar 2024, Brinc is excited to announce its commitment to further supporting innovation and entrepreneurship within the MENA region by sponsoring the upcoming Web Summit Qatar in 2025. They are also committed to sponsoring Collision, which is recognized as North America’s fastest-growing tech conference, bringing together Fortune 500 companies, groundbreaking startups, and world-class speakers in Toronto. These sponsorships underscore Brinc’s dedication to fostering a vibrant ecosystem for startups and entrepreneurs, offering unrivaled opportunities for networking, learning, and collaboration.

With so much innovation and energy within the region, the Brinc MENA team looks forward to continuing to support new founders, investors and our corporate partners to build on their successes in the region and beyond.
